Abhilasha Ladies Club (ALC) of NTPC Darlipali successfully concluded a 15-day self-defense training programme for the students of SSD Girls High School, Chhotbanga. The training began on September 12 and culminated with a closing ceremony on September 26, 2025.
The initiative aimed to empower rural schoolgirls with self-defense skills, boost their self-confidence, and enhance awareness about personal safety. Members of Abhilasha Ladies Club and representatives from NTPC Darlipali’s Human Resources Department attended the closing event.
The training was conducted by experts from Utkal Karate School, Sundargarh, including Mr. Debasis Kabi (Second Dan Black Belt, National Karate Referee), Ms. Sakiya Parveen, and Ms. Sneha Senapati, who imparted various self-defense techniques to the students.
Abhilasha Ladies Club expressed gratitude to the trainers, the school management, and all stakeholders for their support, noting that such initiatives help in shaping safe, confident, and empowered young citizens.ALC also reaffirmed the commitment to promoting programmes dedicated to the welfare and empowerment of girls."At the closing ceremony, Abhilasha Ladies Club assured that such training programmes for the empowerment and safety of girls will continue to be organized regularly in the future."
